McLaren appoint Service Desk Manager as part of reshuffle

McLaren Applied Technologies is an automotive technology specialist that underpin McLaren F1 Motorsports and employs 1400 people in the UK.

The Challenge

A newly appointed Senior IT Manager at McLaren was brought in to improve the IT Service to the business which has 1,400 users across multiple sites.  In order to do this, he needed a reorganisation and 3 positions became open. Having gone through the internal channels for recruitment with no success, the IT manager was given approval to sign Imperative People onto the PSL as we have a proven track record of success and came highly recommended.

Brief

Was to recruit a Service Desk Manager, and two Service Desk Analysts within tight timescales as the roles were vacant and IT support was under mounting pressure to deliver a timely and efficient service.

Strategy

Imperative sourced two of the Service Desk Analysts via their extensive database of candidates, which is organised in such a way that they identified and contacted suited candidates that hadn’t already been approached by other agents nor had applied to job adverts and thus provided completely fresh talent. The Service Desk Manager was identified, and head hunted via Social Media Sources.

The Client was able to improve IT Services to the business and reduce open tickets against targets which increased efficiency and productivity in the wider business.
