This Quality Assurance Analyst role is based in a product development scrum team and is responsible for working with developers to build in quality from the start of projects on a variety of back office applications. You will collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to review user stories, carry out testing and assess risk to achieve successful delivery of high quality software.

Scope of Duties

  • Validating requirements
  • Working with the team to define acceptance tests for user stories
  • Running, reviewing and possibly writing automated tests
  • Helping your team decide which features you're going to deliver in this sprint
  • Estimate stories
  • Executing manual regression test scripts
  • Carrying out manual testing to uncover any bugs
  • Working closely with the BA and developers on story implementation
  • Deploying small changes to our production environment on a regular basis

Your background experience and qualifications

  • QA/Testing experience in a technology-led company, ideally a website / web applications working as part of a QA/Testing team
  • Experience of short release cycles in an agile working environment
  • Likely to have a good degree in a discipline which requires application of analysis skills or creativity (e.g. engineering, project management, business, multimedia, design or software development)
  • Good understanding of QA processes and the Agile Software Development Lifecycle
  • Exposure to issue management and bug lifecycle
  • Experience of writing and maintaining automated tests scripts in Java or another OOP language
  • Familiarity with translating business/functional/usability requirements into test requirements
  • Familiarity with UNIX and SQL
